Datadog alerts become tracked Jira work — created automatically, deduplicated when a monitor re-triggers, and closed when the monitor recovers.

What it does

A Datadog alert (Triggered) creates a Jira issue carrying the monitor title, alert type, severity, tags and a link back to Datadog.
The same monitor re-triggering deduplicates onto the existing issue instead of filling your backlog with duplicates.
When Datadog reports the monitor recovered, the linked Jira issue is closed.
Rules keyed by monitor tag decide the target Jira project, issue type and default assignee.
A conditional Datadog panel on each linked issue shows the current monitor status.
An hourly reconciliation scan picks up anything a dropped webhook would have lost.
